That was the first line of an email we received titled, “Your Apple Store Order”. Yes, we’ve shot the moon, gone for broke, and thrown caution to the wind. In a more literal sense, we just purchased a new 20-inch G5 iMac.
OK, so we didn’t follow our plan at all, but our new iMac order is in processing and is due to be shipped on or before December 21st, 2004. We really did intend to wait on making this purchase, but after selling my old laptop and receiving (& returning) an Averatec laptop from BestBuy.com with a bad pixel in the middle of the screen, we were ready to stop playing around and get what we really wanted to begin with.

That's cool! It's always exciting to get a new computer. I can't help but worry about the financial aspects...but that feeling is slowly being replaced with that giddy night-before-Christmas-like anticipation.

There are so so so many facets of my life that get shoved into the "Just Don't Think About It, Here Look at Something Shiny" department.
I'm trying to come up with a lame "now you're a Mac-user" joke, but I'm not sure it's appropriate. That computer's just way too cool.

Update: The iMac was shipped from Shanghai, China...tonight...at 10:40pm. I'm not too bad at math, I understand physics and chemistry, but this whole international dateline thing really messes with my head. So does that mean I should say that our laptop will have been shipped by today?

That's really cool. I caved and finally clicked submit on a new computer order yesterday, too. Screw waiting.
